In the quiet hush of a fading day,
A young mother's dreams seem miles away.
Trapped in a world so vast and wide,
With a baby to hold and tears to hide,
She gazes at him, her lover so true.
His eyes speak love, but hers have a different hue.
She yearns to feel that fiery embrace.
But within her heart, there's an empty space.
Lost and adrift in a sea of doubt,
Not knowing her path or the right route out.
Is it her or the world that's gone astray?
"Why do I feel alone?" she'd often say.
Surrounded by love yet so isolated,
Feelings of joy are so often negated.
The weight of the world on her fragile chest
Seeking a moment, a mere second of rest
"Why am I lonely?" she'd silently cry.
"When all around, love's banners fly."
In the maze of life, feeling so small,
I wonder if she'll ever find her call.
